TCL has announced that it has a new wave of mini-LED and QLED "large screens" to unleash on the market from Spring 2023, in accordance with its conviction that TVs of 65 inches at the least are the future. Then again, thanks to its CES 2023 showcase, some consumers might be inclined to hold out for something bigger and bolder yet.

TCL CSOT, the display R&D arm of the company, has unveiled a prototype "gaming" TV of 98 inches in size with a 240Hz refresh rate: particularly next-gen for its size category. It might be LCD, yet is made using the same 1-gate 1-drain (1G1D) pixel structure also found in some of TCL CSOT's latest mini-LED breakthroughs, touted for potentially improved viewing angles and light-transmission.

Some parts of TCL's CES 2023 expo have technically been seen before, such as its "world's highest PPI" (~1700) Real RGB LCD-VR panel, although it is joined by the 65-inch 8K "wide-view optical field display" touted as a potentially more comfortable alternative to "heavy" glasses.

On that note, the OEM has brought another "world-first" among 65-inch 8K OLED displays: yet, that's the one made in partnership with JOLED on the inkjet-printing process touted to result in higher resolutions and a broader color range with increased energy efficiency.

TCL CSOT also now claims that it will combine these advantages with others such as increased refresh rates in the future. Speaking of, the group rounds out its latest CES exhibition with something now called the "NB/PAD", another potentially inaugural 14-inch "Portable Envelope NB", a form-factor that might combine rolling and folding actions in the same display.
